A conference titled "The Effects of Disasters on People" was held at our university. A conference titled "The Effects of Disasters on People" was organized by our Disaster Education and Management Application and Research Center at our university. Our University Faculty Member Prof. was the speaker at the conference. Dr. Bülent Kara, Prof. Dr. Yavuz Sürme, Assoc. Dr. Nalan Gördeles Beşer and Dr. Lecturer Member Çiğdem Samancı Tekin discussed the individual and social effects of disasters within the framework of different disciplines, from sociology to psychology, from health to the environment.

A panel titled "Lessons to be Learned from the February 6 Kahramanmaraş Centered Earthquakes" was held at our university.

At the event, of which our Department was among the organizers, on the occasion of March 1-7 Earthquake Week at our university, presentations were made in order to learn lessons from the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes that occurred in February 2023 in our country and caused great losses of life and to provide information about the reality of earthquakes in our country.

The conference titled "Earthquake and Niğde's Seismicity" was held for secondary and high school students on the occasion of March 1-7 Earthquake Week, in cooperation with the Disaster Education and Management Research and Application Center at our university and the Geological Engineering Department of the Faculty of Engineering.
