The Data Security course covers the protection of data in alignment with the principles of confidentiality, integrity, and availability (CIA) throughout its entire lifecycle, from creation to secure destruction. Within the scope of the course, students examine corporate data classification and mapping methodologies, role- and attribute-based access control models (RBAC/ABAC), and data encryption technologies alongside key management for data at rest, in transit, and in use. The curriculum also addresses Data Loss Prevention (DLP) architectures, database security, dynamic data masking and anonymization techniques, KVKK/GDPR compliance frameworks, and secure data destruction standards according to NIST SP 800-88, both theoretically and practically.

The Cryptology course covers the fundamental principles of protecting information through mathematical methods, ensuring message integrity, and establishing authentication mechanisms. Within the scope of the course, students examine classical ciphers (such as Caesar and Vigenère), symmetric block cipher standards like DES and AES, stream ciphers, and asymmetric cryptography algorithms including RSA, DH, and ECC alongside their underlying mathematical foundations (modular arithmetic, discrete logarithms). The curriculum also addresses cryptographic hash functions (SHA-2/SHA-3), message authentication codes (MAC/HMAC), digital signatures (ECDSA), Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) architectures, and Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) trends, both theoretically and practically.
