Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University Faculty of Dentistry carried out oral and dental health screenings for children attending 10 Qur’an courses affiliated with the Niğde Provincial Mufti’s Office as part of the “Elif Be Te Se, Smile with Healthy Teeth” Project.

Implemented as part of the University’s community engagement activities, the project aimed to raise children’s awareness of oral and dental health from an early age, promote preventive health habits, and increase awareness of the importance of regular dental check-ups.

During the visits carried out within the scope of the project, the children’s oral and dental health conditions were assessed and necessary guidance was provided. Age-appropriate information was given on proper tooth-brushing techniques, maintaining oral and dental health, healthy eating habits, and the importance of regular dental check-ups.

Various activities were organized to support children’s learning through enjoyable and engaging experiences. Healthy snacks that support dental health and various gifts were also presented to the children. Through the project’s slogan, “Elif! Be! Te! Se! Take your toothbrush, smile! Healthy teeth, beautiful smiles, come on children, all together!”, awareness was raised about developing regular tooth-brushing habits.

The “Elif Be Te Se, Smile with Healthy Teeth” Project contributed not only to promoting healthy smiles among children but also served as an important community engagement initiative by extending preventive oral and dental health services to different segments of society.

Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University Faculty of Dentistry continues its efforts to raise awareness of oral and dental health in line with its commitment to early-age awareness and preventive healthcare services.
