Oral and Dental Health Screening Conducted in Çamardı Within the Scope of the “Healthy Teeth, Happy Smiles Project”


As part of the “Healthy Teeth, Happy Smiles Project” carried out by the Faculty of Dentistry of Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University, an oral and dental health screening program was conducted at Mehmet Akif Ersoy Boarding Secondary School in the Çamardı district.

The program was attended by Mr. Muhammet Furkan Bektaş, District Governor of Çamardı, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kevser Kurt Demirsoy, Chief Physician of our Faculty, and Mr. Metin Pınar, President of the Çamardı Association for Unity, Solidarity and Development.

Within the scope of the project, oral and dental health screenings were carried out by the academic staff and students of our Faculty for the students of Mehmet Akif Ersoy Boarding Secondary School, Çamardı Imam Hatip Secondary School, and Bademdere Şehit Nuri Dayan Primary and Secondary School. In addition to the screenings, practical training sessions were provided to help students develop proper oral hygiene habits and to raise awareness of preventive dentistry.

Throughout the event, various gifts were presented to the students, while an educational and entertaining theatrical performance prepared by the students of the Faculty of Dentistry attracted great interest from the children.

Continuing its social responsibility initiatives aimed at protecting and improving public oral and dental health, the Faculty of Dentistry of Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University remains committed to supporting community health through projects that promote oral health awareness among children from an early age.
