1Explain the philosophical foundations of mixed methods research (pragmatism, transformative approach, etc.).
2Identify and compare core mixed methods designs (convergent, explanatory sequential, exploratory sequential, embedded, transformative).
3Select and justify an appropriate mixed methods design for a given research question.
4Integrate quantitative and qualitative data collection instruments in mixed methods research.
5Apply data transformation (quantitizing – qualitizing) and data integration methods in mixed methods analysis
6Evaluate validity, reliability, and legitimation criteria in mixed methods research.
7Critically analyze mixed methods articles published in science education.
8Develop and report an appropriate mixed methods design for their own dissertation or research project.
9Discuss ethical issues in mixed methods research (informed consent, data confidentiality, conflict of interest).
10Report mixed methods research according to international standards (e.g., GRAMMS, MMAT).
