Course Objective
The aim of this course is to give information about the use of wastes obtained from food industry in different industries, making them harmless to the environment and human health, waste utilization and sustainable applications and their usability in new products.
Brief Content of the Course
Definitions, classifications, structural properties and composition of waste and residues in food industry, structural properties and chemical composition of by products and wastes, characterization and treatment of wastewater in food industry, character and recovery of wastewater, utilization of waste and residues of dairy, cereal, meat, fruit-vegetables, fat/oil and sugar industries, scrutinization of waste-material cycle in food industry and the impacts of all processes on sustainability and the relationship between food industry waste management and development.
