Course Objective
The aim of this course is to enable the student to analyse and discuss literary works from an ecocritical perspective and develop an ecological and sustainable awareness, and to offer solutions concerning the current environmental problems in order to increase such awareness in social and cultural discourses.
Brief Content of the Course
In this course, recent ecocritical theories, the waves of ecocriticism, sustainability, environmental ethics, the differences between anthropocentrism and ecocentrism are introduced. Contemporary environmental problems are evaluated and analysed in the literary works within the light of the latest ecocritical movements such as postcolonial ecocriticism.
