Course Objective
The aim is to examine a Hadith text by taking into consideration the characteristics of the Hadith collection in which it is found, and to equip students with methods and approaches for understanding Hadiths through selected chapters and examples.
Brief Content of the Course
"Hadiths of varying content are selected with consideration of the characteristics of al-Bukhārī’s al-Jāmiʿ al-Ṣaḥīḥ; the chosen narrations are compared in terms of their chains of transmission (isnād) and texts (matn), analyzed with the aid of classical commentaries, and a set number of Hadiths are memorized.
