Course Objective
This course aims to introduce to students the concepts of scarcity and choice, and their influences in the decision-making process of individual consumers, groups of consumers, and firms. The course covers the basic concepts and tools needed to undertake the analysis of such problems that arise due to the law of scarcity.
Brief Content of the Course
his course covers principal pillars of modern microeconomic theory, including consumer theory, competitive and non-competitive market structures, social choice and welfare, and game theory. The main focus is on the behavior of economic agents with and without strategic interactions with other players. It also provides an introduction to systematic normative analysis.
