Course Objective
The aim of the course is to gain the ability to evaluate the variables that shape social life depending on the concept of popular culture and to discuss the role of media on social change and consumption.
Brief Content of the Course
This course focuses on the meaning of popular culture, identity, memory, culture, modernisation theory, critical approaches, consumption and production relations and popular culture: commodity, show society, popular culture and media, language, popular music, art, urban legends, mythical characters, video games, cyber culture, politics.
