Course Objectives 
1Students will be introduced to the scope and basic principles of thoracic surgery.
2Students will be able to clinically interpret thoracic anatomy and physiology.
3Students will understand the diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to diseases of the lung, pleura, mediastinum, and chest wall.
4Students will learn the stages of preoperative preparation, the surgical process, and postoperative care.
5Students will be able to demonstrate the appropriate clinical approach to thoracic trauma and emergency surgical procedures.
6Students will be familiar with current surgical technologies (thoracoscopy, robotic surgery, etc.) and gain basic awareness.
7Students will be able to embrace the importance of patient safety, ethical principles, and multidisciplinary teamwork.
