The “2nd NÖHÜ Kadraj Communication Days,” organized by the Faculty of Communication at Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University, hosted important sessions on current issues in communication as well as sustainability and environmental awareness. As part of the event, Prof. Dr. Sevgi Demirel, Director of the Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University Environmental Problems Application and Research Center, met with students and participants to discuss climate crisis and sustainability.
In the discussion held under the theme of “Climate Crisis and Sustainability,” Prof. Dr. Sevgi Demirel drew attention to the environmental, economic, and social impacts of climate change, emphasizing the importance of sustainable living for today's world. She also stated that achieving sustainable development goals requires shared responsibility from individuals, institutions, and all segments of society.
The event also focused on the power of communication in solving environmental problems and its role in raising awareness. Participants had the opportunity to learn about the importance of effective communication strategies in combating the climate crisis and exchanged views on what can be done for a sustainable future.
This session, held as part of the Kadraj Communication Days, highlighted the importance of addressing environmental and sustainability issues together with different disciplines, and contributed to increasing students' awareness of current global problems.
