Our University Has Earned the "Sports-Friendly Campus" Title and Certificate!
Our university has achieved a significant milestone as part of the Sports-Friendly Campus Project, initiated in collaboration with the Turkish Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), aimed at promoting a healthy, active, and balanced lifestyle among young generations. Following an evaluation among over 100 candidate universities from a total of 208 institutions, Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University was recognized as one of the first 47 universities to receive the prestigious “Sports-Friendly Campus” title and certificate.
Sports-Friendly Campus Certificate Presented to Our Rector
At the Sports-Friendly Campus Awards Ceremony, hosted by Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University, our Rector, Prof. Dr. Hasan Uslu, was presented with the Sports-Friendly Campus Certificate by the Turkish Minister of Youth and Sports, Osman Aşkın Bak, the Chairman of the Council of Higher Education, Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, and Bilal Erdoğan.
Our university, selected among more than 100 applicant institutions, stood out with its student-centered campus life, strong sports infrastructure, initiatives promoting active living, and efforts to foster a culture of healthy living.
"Our Efforts for a Sports-Friendly Campus Will Continue Uninterrupted"
In his remarks, our Rector, Prof. Dr. Hasan Uslu, emphasized the importance of this recognition, stating, “Being honored with this meaningful title is a concrete reflection of our commitment to supporting the physical and mental well-being of our students in a holistic manner. Our efforts within the scope of the Sports-Friendly Campus initiative will continue without interruption.” He also noted that this prestigious title would be highlighted in the Higher Education Institution (YKS) placement guide, further enhancing Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University's visibility as a sports-friendly higher education institution.
Rector Uslu concluded his speech by expressing his gratitude: “I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Mr. Bilal Erdoğan, our Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Osman Aşkın Bak, and the Chairman of the Council of Higher Education, Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, for their valuable support in achieving this title and obtaining this certificate. I also thank all our dedicated academic and administrative staff, as well as our students, who contributed to this achievement.”
