Prof. Dr. Hasan USLU

Prof. Dr. Hasan Uslu was born in Niğde in 1980. He completed his primary and secondary education in İstanbul. He graduated from the Department of Chemical Engineering at İstanbul University, Faculty of Engineering, in 2002. He received his Master’s degree in 2005 and his PhD degree in 2009 from the Department of Chemistry at İstanbul University, Faculty of Engineering.

Between 2007 and 2009, he served as a Research Assistant in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Beykent University, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, and between 2009 and 2011, he worked as an Assistant Professor. In 2011, he was awarded the title of Associate Professor by the Interuniversity Board. He served as an Associate Professor at Beykent University between 2011 and 2016, as a Professor at Esenyurt University between 2017 and 2018, and as a Professor at Aydın University between 2018 and 2019. In May 2019, he began working as a Professor in the Department of Food Engineering at Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University, Faculty of Engineering.

In addition to his academic career, Prof. Dr. Hasan Uslu has held numerous administrative positions at the institutions where he served, including Vice Rector at İstanbul Aydın University and Esenyurt University, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Director of Vocational School, Acting Director of the Conservatory, Member of the University Senate, Member of the University Executive Board, as well as memberships in various committees. He also served as a Member of the Interuniversity Board for nearly two years.

Academically, Prof. Dr. Hasan Uslu has authored more than 120 articles indexed in international citation databases (SCI), receiving over 2,000 citations. His H-index is 24 and his i10-index is 64. He has received several awards at different times for being the most productive researcher at the universities where he worked. In a study conducted in 2020 by Professor Ioannidis and colleagues and published by Mendeley Data, he was listed among the World’s Most Influential Scientists. Additionally, based on Google Scholar data dated 6–10 February 2021, he ranked 1,900th among Turkey’s 6,000 Most Influential Academicians according to H-index and citation counts.

During his tenure in İstanbul, Prof. Dr. Hasan Uslu provided consultancy services to numerous industrial organizations and made significant contributions to TÜBİTAK-TEYDEB projects aimed at developing domestic products to replace imported ones.

After starting to work in his hometown of Niğde in 2019, he was involved in a company establishment initiative supported by KOSGEB through a project to develop a domestic product, based on calcite minerals extracted in the Niğde region, as an alternative to an imported product used in the agricultural sector.

Prof. Dr. Hasan Uslu is married and has one child.
