PROGRAM OUTCOMES

PO1: Defines the causes and mechanisms of oral, dental, and maxillofacial diseases, the resulting findings, structural and functional disorders, and their effects on the organism.

PO2: Utilizes knowledge from basic and clinical sciences to identify normal and pathological conditions of oral and dental tissues.

PO3: Possesses fundamental and up-to-date knowledge in clinical, social, and technical sciences required by the dental profession and can use all instruments necessary for maintaining oral and dental health.

PO4: Continuously follows evidence-based scientific publications related to dentistry throughout professional life and applies current knowledge to practice.

PO5: Evaluates the nature, source, limitations, accuracy, reliability, and validity of information.

PO6: Analyzes and synthesizes interdisciplinary knowledge specific to dentistry at the undergraduate level, shares it with colleagues, compares findings, and engages in professional knowledge exchange.

PO7: Applies skills to prevent cross-infections during clinical practice.

PO8: Can develop projects related to dentistry, participate in national and international studies, and plan and conduct clinical and laboratory work in accordance with ethical and hygiene standards, respecting patient rights and prioritizing human values.

PO9: Follows professional rules and regulations, examines national and international policies and practices related to oral and dental health, evaluates potential outcomes, and produces and presents informed recommendations.

PO10: Obtains comprehensive medical, oral, and dental histories, maintains accurate patient records, and, by correlating clinical, radiological, and other diagnostic findings, provides the most appropriate treatment while considering ethical and legal responsibilities; refers cases beyond their competency to specialists.

PO11: Establishes qualified communication based on mutual understanding, trust, and respect with patients, their relatives, colleagues, and other personnel, and behaves psychologically appropriately with patients of all ages and cultural backgrounds.

PO12: Possesses sufficient awareness of the universality of social rights, social justice, and the protection of cultural values; applies knowledge regarding clinical management, training of auxiliary staff, effective workflow, occupational disease prevention, environmental protection, waste management, and occupational health and safety.

PO13: Provides dental care for individuals with special needs or systemic conditions and refers them to fully equipped centers when necessary.

PO14: Implements preventive dentistry practices in the clinic and participates in community-oriented oral and dental health programs and projects planned at local or national levels.

PO15: Understands the normal structure and function of the human body at molecular, cellular, tissue, organ, and system levels and distinguishes the changes that occur in these structures and functions during diseases.
