Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University Faculty of Dentistry, in collaboration with the Departments of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry, conducted an Oral and Dental Health Screening for children aged 6 and under attending kindergartens.

The screenings aimed to promote community oral and dental health and expand preventive dentistry practices among children. During the screenings, the children’s oral and dental health conditions were evaluated, with particular attention given to early-stage dental caries and orthodontic treatment needs.

It was emphasized that oral and dental health examinations at an early age are important for the timely detection of potential problems and the planning of necessary treatment processes. Children identified as requiring treatment or further evaluation were appropriately referred for follow-up.

As Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University Faculty of Dentistry, efforts to protect children’s oral and dental health, promote early diagnosis, and raise public awareness of oral and dental health will continue.

It is aimed to sustain such preventive healthcare services as part of community health initiatives, contributing to children growing up with healthy teeth and gums.
