“International Forum: Global Challenges in Agriculture 2025”


On August 21, 2025, the Tacna Regional Directorate of Agriculture, affiliated with the Peruvian Ministry of Agriculture, organized the "International Forum: Global Challenges in Agriculture 2025" event in Tacna, Peru. This event brought together experts from Peru, Spain, Turkey, and Chile, allowing them to share their experiences and perspectives on the key challenges facing agriculture today.

The main objective of the forum was to foster dialogue on topics such as agricultural sustainability, technological innovation, responsible use of inputs, and the revaluation of local phytogenetic resources. The event was attended by farmers, professionals, researchers, and students.

Among the presentations, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tefide Kızıldeniz Gürbüz, one of our faculty members, highlighted her contributions to sustainable agriculture and climate change. Other experts addressed biotechnology, agricultural exports, artificial intelligence applications in agriculture, and strengthening agricultural industrial chains.

This forum has made a significant contribution to the Tacna region by promoting international knowledge transfer and strengthening collaboration between producers, institutions and academics, creating a valuable platform to address the challenges facing agriculture in the 21st century.
