WoCo2026 World Congress Continues with Technical Visit in Bursa
As part of its 7th day program, the WoCo2026 World Congress connected participants with the agricultural innovation and seed sector through a technical visit to Bursa. Young agricultural leaders and students from all over the world visited May Tohum, one of Turkey's leading seed companies, and had the opportunity to learn about the sector's current activities.
During the technical visit, company officials gave comprehensive presentations to the participants on plant breeding, seed development processes, and R&D activities. Participants learned about the work being carried out towards sustainable agricultural production with modern seed technologies and had the opportunity to listen to assessments regarding the future of the sector.
Following the May Tohum visit, participants visited the Panorama 1326 Bursa Conquest Museum, hosted by Osmangazi Municipality, to get a closer look at Bursa's historical and cultural heritage. The museum, one of the few in the world with a fully panoramic view, showcased exhibits and visual narratives depicting the conquest of Bursa and the founding process of the Ottoman Empire, which were followed with great interest. International participants had the opportunity to get to know Turkey's historical and cultural values ??up close.
In the second part of the day, the General Assembly meeting, one of the important decision-making mechanisms of the congress, was held at Osmangazi Municipality. Representatives from various countries of IAAS participated in the meeting, where agenda items regarding the future of the organization were discussed, and evaluations were made on international collaborations and student activities.
The program, which combined technical information sharing, cultural interaction, and institutional meetings, contributed to the participants gaining experience at both the sectoral and international levels, and concluded with the completion of the day.
