Patent Establishment in Fuel Cell Technology from Our University


The invention called "Tij-Type Microtube Solid Oxide Fuel Cell," developed by Prof. Dr. Bora Timurkutluk, a lecturer member of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at our University's Faculty of Engineering, and his project team, has received national patent registration by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office as a result of the investigation.

In the study, supported within the TÜBİTAK-1001 Program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Çiğdem Timurkutluk, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tolga Altan, and Dr. Lec. Sezer Önbilgin also participated as co-inventors. The patent application, conducted through the Technology Transfer Office operating under the Research Dean's Office of our university, was developed in the field of "Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies" and offers significant advantages in energy systems by increasing the performance of microtube solid oxide fuel cells.

Congratulatory Message from Our Rector

Our Rector, Prof. Dr.  Hasan Uslu, in his statement,  he emphasized that the university continues its study with an approach which priorities transforming scientific knowledge into social benefit, and he stated that such patents demonstrate the university's capacity for research and innovation. He congratulated Prof. Dr. Bora Timurkutluk and his team and expressed his hope that this achievement will be beneficial for our country and the relevant sectors.
